Arriving at the beach, she reflected on her life. Leah whispered to the aquamarine sea, “What life?”
Her soon-to-be ex-husband convicted for embezzlement. The studio where they worked fired her, not caring the police cleared her of any wrongdoing. Her parents angry Leah was embroiled in such a sordid affair. Her mother’s condescending voice reverberated in her head. She demanded to know could they could possibly face their friends in Beverly Hills after what her husband did.
Leah sold her house and fled to Hawaii. Sitting on the rocky shoreline at Keokea Beach, she realized the opportunity to live her life how she chose lay before her. The warm breezes caressed her face, her spirits rejuvenated. She decided to stay in Hawaii and find a job teaching screenwriting, rebuild what she lost.
She wanted to live again.
